For the past several years, I’ve had the pleasure of writing for local newspapers, arts and culture magazines, online media outlets, and promotional text for businesses and educational institutions.

Check out some of the articles I’ve written for the magazines with links to the right of this text.

On-the-job Writing and Editing Experience

I recently served as an associate editor for Bella Media who publishes Santa Fean, Su Casa, and NOW magazines. While there, I edited a weekly calendar and a wrote a multitude of articles for all three publications I supported. For the Santa Fean, I wrote about art, culture, people, and trips to recreation areas; for Su Casa, I covered home decor, coffee shops, and books; and for NOW, I wrote about bands, dining, businesses, and even fat bikes.

As an associate editor for the Local iQ magazine, I worked with several other writers, I brainstormed themes for 26 issues a year, and I loved putting out a print publication full of interesting people and local happenings.

Freelance Positions

Some of the topics I’ve enjoyed writing about include New Mexico’s 19 Native American pueblos, recreation like sledding around Santa Fe, and impressive youngsters for New Mexico Kids! magazine.

I’m always pitching to potential writing venues and am open to suggestions about publications seeking writers and story ideas.
