Job hunting, good times!

As a freelancer or contract worker, I’m discovering the many ways to put my name and skillset out to market. One of the online sources I recently came across while searching “graphic design, santa fe” was Thumbtack.com. “A new way to hire local services” is their tagline, and as far as I understand it, individuals and businesses post their specific need, say logo design for a massage therapist, and Thumbtack searches from their vast database of people like me, and hooks us up. I pay to send an estimate to the client with credits ($1.64/each), and then we’re ready to work together after negotiating. The logo design estimate will cost three credits, for example, so pretty low overhead for me. And for the massage therapist, the estimators like me have been vetted by Thumbtack, and aren’t total sketchbags like you find on craigslist. We’ll see how it goes!
